I write mainly about entertainment, lifestyle, and dating! I wrote a poetry book called Shelter, which was featured by The LA Times, Pride, Mend, Instinct, and more!
R.I.P. "The OA": Why We're Going To Miss One of Netflix's Most Thought-Provoking Original Series!
Let me start by saying, if you haven’t seen "The OA" yet, drop everything, and watch it. Binge every minute of it, because what is out now is probably all we will ever get. To me, it was one of the best original shows Netflix had ever created, and they are making the biggest mistake by canceling it. The show was unique, thought-provoking, and the perfect blend of realism and magic. It is everything you would want in a show.
Los Angeles Love Story
Aidon is handsome, a teacher, blonde, has green eyes, Australian (hot accent), and can be found anywhere around the world on an adventure. And although it sounds like I’m describing someone from a romance novel, Aidon is as real as you and me. I thought we all have that type in our head that we will never truly find, but there he was on my phone screen waiting for me to send that first message on Tinder.
Aidon currently lives in Australia where he works as a part time traveler and a full time...
How Netflix's "Special" Defies Stereotypes!
Being a gay Millennial in Los Angeles can be hard. We are expected to constantly be attractive, have the perfect sculpted body, and, for some reason, always desire iced coffee.
Today’s schedule:
1) Get an iced coffee
2) drink iced coffee
3) be gay
— ?????????????? (@jamesxingleton) August 29, 2018
However, in the original Netflix series "Special", created by Ryan O’Connell, we get a glimpse into the life of a gay man who doesn’t fit into this impossible gay box.
O’Connell is awkward, a virgin...
ABC's "The Little Mermaid Live" Taps Another Disney Heroine As Its Ariel!
I am a massive fan of musical theatre, and I am an even bigger fan of the fact that they are being performed live on televisions all across the world. Thus far, we have had Rent, Hairspray, The Wiz, and even Peter Pan. Live musicals are an immersive way to get people excited about theatre, and along with all the buzz of Disney remakes, it’s no surprise the next live musical is one that is taking us under the sea. NBC has chosen The Little Mermaid to be its next musical smash!
11 Celebrities' Pre-Fame Jobs!
Not everyone is famous overnight. Unless you’re the child of Beyoncé or a Kardashian, most likely you will have to work hard before you get your name in the spotlight. So many of us are bummed out by our 9-5s and envy the celebrities whose only job is to create art. However, you have to remember stars are just like us -- well, at least at one point they were. So here is a list of some celebrities' first jobs to remind you that we all have those stepping stones on our way to our dreams!
HBO's "Los Espookys" Brings Spanish-Language Humor (and Horror) to the Mainstream!
When it comes to watching television, I always do it with close-captioning. So when I dove into "Los Espookys" on HBO, I wasn’t bothered by the fact that the majority of the show is spoken in Spanish. It was exciting and new, and I think that is what is helping to make it so popular. It’s a comedy that blends both English and Spanish, challenging the writers to craft jokes in both languages for both audiences.
The series follows a group of friends in an imaginary Latin American country who st...
5 Old School Bands You Should Still Be Listening To!
Recently I saw the film Yesterday -- about a struggling musician whose whole world changes when he wakes up one day and learns he's the only person alive who remembers The Beatles -- and it gave me such nostalgia for the music our parents and grandparents grew up with but that many of us may have forgotten about, so I wanted to share a list of bands/artists that are still as relevant today as they were then. Because, honestly, music is timeless, and I cruise the beach blasting music that my p...
Hollywood's Secret Poets!
If you have an Instagram, I’m sure a picture in your feed every once in a while is that of a poem -- a smart play of words, usually written on a typewriter, and set against a beautiful landscape. Poetry is a great way to connect and process emotions, and even though some of it can be gut-wrenching and heartbreaking, it is also incredibly healing. But did you know some of your favorite musicians and celebrities are poets and that they even have books?! Here is a list of some of Hollywoods secr...
"Friends" Pop-Up Will Be There For You In NYC This Fall!
Could this BE any more amazing?!
"Friends" is a show we all know and love. We can quote it, watch re-runs of it forever, and we can probably all agree Ross is the most obnoxious character on the show; can I get a “Pivot!”? It’s heartbreaking to announce that it’s leaving Netflix to go on its very own streaming service, but the good news is that they are creating a "Friends" pop-up experience in New York City to celebrate its 25th anniversary!
This throwback event is going to make all of our "...
5 LGBTQ+ Comic Book Superheroes That Deserve Their Own Movie or TV Series!
I love superhero movies. They excite me, make me want to fight crime, and they give my imagination freedom to dream outside reality. However, growing up within the LGBTQ+ community, I never felt I had a superhero who represented that. So here’s a list of LGBTQ+ superheroes who deserve their own franchise or movie!
6 Books That Need To Be Adapted Into a Movie or TV Series!
I love reading and diving into worlds outside our own, visualizing them in my head, and going on an adventure with the characters in the story. I also love when my favorite books get a movie makeover, so listen up, Hollywood -- here is a list of books I am dying to see made into a film or TV series!
Haters To The Left: Why Halle Bailey Is Actually The PERFECT Choice To Play Ariel In Disney's Live-Action 'The Little Mermaid'!
Disney is blessing us with all these fantastic live-action remakes, and they’re now about to remake my favorite princess movie of all time, The Little Mermaid. So many people seem to be upset about the fact they cast Halle Bailey to play the iconic ginger, but truthfully we should all be concerned about how they are going to bring mermaids to life underwater in a believable way. That is an issue. The whole debate about Halle, however, needs to rest with the fishes. Here are 5 reasons why:

6 LGBTQ+ Creators Who Are Changing the Face of Hollywood!
The entertainment industry used to be a place where LGBTQ+ individuals thrived but could scarcely come out because of the repercussions it would have on their careers. Nowadays, however, these stigmas don’t hold much sway. In honor of Pride month and the progress Hollywood has made and is making, I’d like to take a look at some of our LGBTQ+ brothers and sisters that are changing the game and making huge impacts for our community!

WOMEN WE LOVE: Meryl Streep
Someone once said Meryl Streep could be cast as Batman and it would still be the right choice for the role because of how talented she is, and although I would pay a hell of a lot of money to watch that, I know it probably won’t ever happen. It is true. Meryl is one of the most badass women in Hollywood and is considered the greatest actress of our time. She has a total of 21 Oscar nominations and 3 wins. Meryl has more than anyone in the history of Hollywood, and having just celebrated her 7...
5 Ways The Avengers Taught Me To Be a Hero!
As a kid, I would always wish I could be a superhero. Every time I saw an action film, I would pretend I knew how to fight and I would reenact moments from movies in the parking lot. But of course, the reality of life took over and I was constantly reminded I didn’t have superpowers. I couldn’t fly, I didn’t have super strength (I couldn’t even beat up my older brother), and I wasn’t lightning fast. I was average, and I envied superheroes for what I thought I lacked. But being a superhero is ...
